The Assembly Appropriations Committee moved a large slate of bills to the floor on May 14, but it also held a cluster of notable measures for later action, according to the committee’s hearing summary.
The committee advanced dozens of bills as either “do pass” or “do pass as amended,” while holding others in committee, the summary shows. Among the held measures were AB 2034, which concerns food additives; AB 2000, on drug formularies; AB 2123, on medical debt relief; AB 1690, on the young child tax credit; AB 2347, on peace officer standards; AB 2391, on nursing grant support; AB 2511, on a comparable worth study; AB 1765, on vehicle fees; AB 1814, on peace officer training; AB 1771, on an apartment regulations study; AB 2398, on a graduate medical education report; AB 2585, on the California guaranteed income pilot program; and AB 2675, on EdTech best practices.
The hearing also included bills that were advanced with amendments, showing the committee reshaped some measures before sending them onward, according to the committee summary. The summary does not include fiscal estimates or vote tallies for each bill.
The committee said amendment language would be posted later on the California Legislative Information website, and the hearing was adjourned after the large batch of bill dispositions.
