The Live Oak City Council authorized submission of a delayed fiscal year 2021-22 Transportation Development Act claim to SACOG, clearing the way for the city to seek a net $444,006 after a $13,732 SACOG administrative deduction.
According to the May 6 meeting materials, the funds would support local street and road work, including Nevada Street and N Street improvements, signage, and possible matching money for a Larkin Road and Broadway preservation project. Staff also told the council that Live Oak still has about $2.87 million in unclaimed local transportation fund balances held by SACOG.
The council’s action was one part of a broader meeting that also included approval of changes to the master fee schedule and other city business. But the transportation item stood out as a concrete step toward recovering money the city says it can use for street projects, even as a larger backlog remains at the regional agency.
