The Marysville Joint Unified School District board is scheduled to consider nearly $692,000 in meal-program and student-service actions at its Oct. 27 meeting, according to the district agenda.

The largest item is a proposed $434,286.60 extension with Hylen Distributing for dairy products during the 2026-27 school year. The agenda says the extension would support the USDA National School Lunch Program and run from Aug. 1, 2026, through July 31, 2027. The district said the vendor met delivery and service specifications during the prior school year and continued to offer competitive prices.

The board also is scheduled to ratify a second $190,369.40 allocation through the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program. The money is designated for Cedar Lane, Covillaud, Dobbins, Ella, Johnson Park, Kynoch, Linda and Yuba Feather elementary schools. The agenda says the federal program pays for fresh fruits and vegetables served separately from school meals, and that the award is based on each school’s prior-year enrollment.

The district received the FFVP award notification Oct. 5 and returned the signed notification before the board meeting, the agenda says, to avoid jeopardizing the funding. Board ratification remains listed as the action requested.

A separate item asks the board to ratify and accept a $67,363.63 American Indian Early Childhood Education grant for the 2026-27 school year. The program provides supplemental educational services for identified American Indian students in preschool through fourth grade at Yuba Feather and Dobbins elementary schools. The agenda says the grant is funded by the California Department of Education and requires no district funds.

The agenda establishes proposed or scheduled actions, not final approval of all three items. The record available for this draft does not include the Oct. 27 voting outcomes.
