Shasta County supervisors approved a lien against a Shingletown property to recover $113,200 in unpaid nuisance-abatement fines and penalties.
In a resolution adopted Aug. 25, the Board of Supervisors said the lien would be recorded against 30818 Bambi Drive, listed in the document as the property tied to an amended Jan. 9, 2026, decision and order by Administrative Hearing Officer Katie Bellotti Porter. The resolution says that order found nuisance conditions on the property and directed the owners, Elliott Landy and Bianca R. Schofield, to abate violations including a failing septic system and accumulated junk and refuse.
According to the resolution, the county demanded payment on July 1, 2026, but the owners did not pay the assessed amount or meet the deadlines in the hearing officer’s order. The lien was authorized under Government Code §53069.4 and Shasta County Code §1.12.050(B)(6), and the document says it will accrue interest at the legal rate, listed as 10% per year under California Code of Civil Procedure §685.010.
An attached exhibit identifies the parcel as APN 094-210-023-000 and shows the $113,200 balance as unpaid.
The board’s approval shifts the debt into the county’s lien system, allowing it to be collected against the property.
