Yuba City has formalized its downtown partnership with the Downtown Business Association, approving a memorandum of understanding that sets out responsibilities for downtown maintenance, event coordination, tourism promotion and beautification.
The council unanimously approved the agreement at its Aug. 18 meeting, according to the meeting summary. City Manager Robert Bendorf said the MOU turns a relationship the city and DBA have handled informally for years into a defined operating framework and sets annual city support at about $95,000. The summary said Bendorf described the agreement as shifting clearer responsibility for items including sidewalk debris cleanup, trash receptacle service and flower bowl maintenance.
A city agenda packet identified the item as the Downtown Business Association MOU and described it as a formal city-DBA partnership for downtown services and events. During the meeting, DBA representatives also spoke in support of the agreement, the summary said.
