Sutter County supervisors on May 12 approved a five-year memorandum of understanding with Habitat for Humanity Yuba/Sutter and Emerald Oaks Residential Care Facility for the Elderly to administer $750,000 in California Department of Social Services Community Care Expansion Preservation Program funding for capital improvements at the Yuba City facility.

According to the Summary of Proceedings, the board authorized the county’s Health and Human Services director, or a designee, to execute the agreement and related documents. The record says the MOU covers Emerald Oaks Residential Care Facility for the Elderly, along with SSB Properties, Inc. and Emerald Oaks Care, Inc.

Sarah Eberhardt-Rios, the county’s health and human services director, presented the item to supervisors, and the board approved it unanimously.

The meeting record does not specify which capital improvements are planned or whether the project is paired with local, state or private matching money.
