The Yuba County Board of Supervisors is being asked to approve a proposed agreement with Dr. Radha Sadacharan for temporary Health Officer coverage and medical consulting during the county’s recruitment of a permanent Health Officer, according to the board’s amended Sept. 22 agenda.
The proposed term runs from Oct. 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028. The agreement would cap compensation at $252,000, with rates of $200 per hour for medical consulting and Health Officer coverage and $35 per hour for travel. The agenda says the cost would be covered by state and federal funding rather than the county’s General Fund.
Under the proposed scope, Sadacharan would provide medical oversight for communicable-disease case investigations, contact tracing and outbreak response; advise on clinical policies and procedures; serve as the medical director of record for public-health standing orders; and carry out the functions, powers and duties of the county Health Officer while the position is vacant or the officer is unavailable.
The agenda recommends that the board authorize its chair to execute the agreement. The materials reviewed for this story do not establish whether the board approved the item or whether the agreement was later signed.
